True God and the False God

The Book of Enlightenment - A guide to a better life

I am not sure that any man, however much he desires can exclude the idea of God from his life.

Expel the idea of God from human nature, you cannot it will come back in a purified form, or it may be in a caricature of some sort.

After all my human friend, it matters not what you think about God. But what does matter is what God thinks about you. A mans conduct is oftimes a better reflection of his real beliefs than any intellectual exposition of them.

But if God created man in his image it is also true that man creates God in his own. Some men may be incapable of expressing his ideas in words but inevitably he will believe as he acts, just as he acts what he believes. The idea of God contains a conception of the Supreme God and a conception of Supreme Powers. Some may have an idea, lofty or low, true or false, of what is the Supreme God or Power. You must add to that sense of power to have a religion, good or bad to make it work for your conception of the Supreme God. Wherefore and the Whither the Whence is the addition of powers, and it is that which makes indifference difficult. The pendulum of thought swings one way or down blind alleys.
