The Book of Enlightenment - A guide to a better life

Sunday 24th March 1935

Ye that be desirous of receiving the benefits of the guiding Spiritual Influences that ever surround ye. Ye that so desire the help of the Power of the Supreme Power must pray. Learn to pray try with the reverence the sincerity of the words spoken by thy material tongue. Pray ye my Material friends pray ye with the assistance of thy Spiritual Soul.

Ye that have oft repeateth the words "He that taught us to pray" pray not but repeateth only the prayers of thy ancestors of the masses.

It will avail ye naught to pray as ye have been taught to pray let thy prayer be thine own from the Soul not as taught. Thy prayer must be with reverence to thy Supreme Power God a prayer of Spiritual and Material development.

Is not thy request of thine own asking dost thou not realise the wisdom of thine own prayer dost thou value thy request so little that thou must call upon thy neighbour to assist thee in thy prayer a request to a Power granting Life and Truth to thee hast thou no longer faith in thine own simple prayer that thou must turn to thy neighbour for thy Prayer.

Is it that thou also desire to deceive the Powers that guide and care for thee. Dost thou then not realise that thy must know that the Prayer is not of thine own Soul.

Thou realise liketh the child who is inclined to rebel against the teachings of its Material Parents oftimes desiring and learning what on thy Material plane is known as deceit that wins applause of thy material guiding Parents.

So ye oft as a child learn to pray a prayer not thine own a prayer of deceit. Do ye think it wisdom to try and influence the Power so much stronger than thine own eyes that can penetrate thy Material and Spiritual self. How can ye hope to blind those Powerful Eyes in thy endeavour to deceive thy true intentions by the mere words of the prayers such as spoken by thine ancestors.

Cast aside such foolish folly. Know ye now thy Material and Spiritual minds and the minds of thy Spiritual surroundings are open pages to the knowledge of the Council of Power of the Supreme Council.

Pray ye then with reverence and sincerity let thy prayers be the prayer of thine own Soul. Prayer of thy fathers will avail ye naught.

Ye that sincerely desire and are worthy in the eyes of the Council of Power who in turn will convey thy Prayer to the Council of the Supreme Power.
