Reflections

The Book of Enlightenment - A guide to a better life

Sunday 3rd February 1935

Ye of the material plane, pause ye to think why ye care not to look long and truly upon thine own reflection, dost thou fear that therein thou shalt find the truth?

Knoweth now I speak not of what thou knowest and termest thy material glass reflecting glass, I speak to thee of the Pool of Reflection.

Ye the masses planted in thy material surroundings by the Will of God the Supreme Power in the garden of experiment. Ye are endowed with the faculties that alloweth unto thee the privilege but not the desire to gaze into the pool of reflection for I find among thee those who desire not to look to gaze too deeply upon the reflections therein thou may find. Yea to gaze too deeply may interfere with thy material desires. That is why thou carest not to gaze too deeply. Nothing must interfere with thy selfish desire for material gain, yea there dwell among ye even those who desire to doubt the survival after thy material passing, who doubt existence after death. I say doubt, doubt but not convinced for they pause in doubt realising the truth when in doubt yea they care not to gaze too deeply they may find the truth, afraid of the truth ever proclaiming ever boasting with all their material vanity "There is no life after death". But in their hearts and minds lies a little seed of wisdom though they proclaim so boldly, so nobly their views "There is no life after death", they whisper so silently, so fearfully "There might be and I must not look too deeply in case I find there is".

Yea it may interfere with my material pleasures should I find there is.

Knoweth now my friends ye that shouteth loud and long, soon thy firm footsteps will falter thy head will bend in submission to the Will of God. Know ye thy days are numbered, thy false security is but short lived, then shalt thou realise the truth of thy fears for then thou shalt be privileged to gaze for a moment beyond the veil of wisdom.

With the eagerness of thy material vanity how often thou gazeth into thy material reflecting glass to see if thou canst make thy image what it is not. Could ye with the same eagerness pause for a moment to gaze into the spiritual pool of reflection.

There thou will surely find the truth that would enable thee to become truth, beautiful truth, living in the desire for truth to accept the truth, to model thy material existence with the desire of the truth.

Therein thou wouldst find beauty, real not reflecting the reflections of thy material undesirable ugliness that thou findeth in thine own reflective glass for thou seeth and knoweth and now gazeth at that which thou dost not want the world to realise how unsatisfactory thou hast found thine own reflection.

Speaketh thou to the masses around thee. 'Tis just so simple so easy to model thy material existence on the desires of thy Spiritual God the Supreme Power. Could ye but realise that thy existence on thy material sphere is but life in the beginning, life in the seeds, life that will never blossom forth in thy material existence, but life in the bud that should thou be worthy, thou shalt blossom forth to work in harmony, in unison with the desire of God the Supreme Power.

Thence thou must surely realise the wisdom of the thought brought into thee the desire to gaze into the pool of reflections and thereby adjust thyself to live in accordance with the omissions that thou found therein.

Pause ye that are around me, pause ye long enough to comply, cease thy seething, leaping, joyfully dancing unresistingly stop just long enough to gaze. Material masses I beseech thee. Stop, come with me, gaze with me into the Pool of thy material existence for there thou shalt find thine own reflections. I know thou carest not to look too deeply, thou fearest that thou shall find the truth but knoweth that the truth the wisdom the Power the strength that is to be desired is here. Stop and come with me gaze ye deeply then seeth as I see children of the material plane, romping, whirling onwards in their material growth, existing for a material moment, scorching their wings as they flutter by the flame of material destruction. How joyously they go to their doom and in their pain they cry and cry in vain "Oh ye Mighty Power ye with all thy strength and knowledge why didst thou not save my wicked and contaminated soul from this destruction". See now they are now permitted to gaze beyond the Veil of Wisdom therein they find the Pool of Reflections from the Pool comes the Echo and the reflection of their material existence. There they see how in their desire for their material existence and pleasures, the whirl of material life how often they neglected to gaze upon their reflections and the protection they would therein have found, but desired not to find. For to find would it not have marred their material flutter.

Ye that then desire not the protection of warnings from the influences that surround thee. Ye that casteth aside for thy material pleasures on what foundation dost thou demand protection when thy wings are scorched. When thou art but a wilful child and likened unto the child whose material parent so loving and desiring to protect the seed of material existence spoketh often into the child "burn ye not thy fingers for should thou disobey thou wilt surely regret that thou heeded not".

But the child, wilful, disobedient, casteth aside the warning of love to burn its fingers in the material flame thence to cry in agony to the Mother.

Ye that are like the child cryeth to the Lord as the child cryeth to its mother.

Thou heedeth not the prompting of thy Spiritual Advisors until thou hast found the experience on thy material plane.
