The Veil of Life

The Book of Enlightenment - A guide to a better life

Sunday 10th February 1935

The Veil of Life, secrecy of life avails ye naught. Cast ye aside the veil that enshrouds thee for thou that be wise must soon come to realise that thy veil that surroundeth the material existence shieldeth thee only from thy material surroundings, protecting ye not from the eyes of thy Supreme Power God. Ye who desire to hide under the veil must surely realise that some day, some moment soon for thy material existence is but short lived. That thy veil shall vanish as the clouds thou gazeth upon, leaving thy soul exposed for the world, the spiritual world, to gaze upon that which thou hast so carefully hidden.

Pray ye oh my material masses for the strength, the Power to live thy material existence without the aid of thy cloak. Cast aside the disguise, the veil under which thou now dwelleth. Model thy existence on thy material plane in compliance with the requirements of thy God so that thou needeth not the veil to cloak thy material sins. Knoweth thou today ye live tomorrow ye hope for, yesterday a dream, yesterday drifting gone beyond thy recall, but yesterdays dreams were realistic, thou planted thy seeds of progression and thought thou realised the good, the evil of the seeds thou hast sown. Seeds that are passed beyond the recall seeds that to ye seem but a dream. Today ye live why then shroud thy material existence under a veil, art thou ashamed of the work thy supreme God hast allotted thee. Think ye think ye well. Pray ye then my material friends that the strength the Power the wisdom may be granted unto thee to enable thee to understand and comply with the requirements and desires of the Power, that granted thee thy material day, the wisdom to plan thine actions, thy existence, so as to enable thee to look back with pleasure and satisfaction without regret.

Tomorrow ye hope tomorrow beyond thy material grasp thy arm may be strong, but thou mayest not reach as far as tomorrow, tomorrow is not for thee to say for thy tomorrow my material friends is in the hand of thy Supreme God.

Tomorrow is but an uncertainty upon which thou hast no power to control, 'tis today that is thy concern. Leave ye not this day under the disguise of thy veil. Be proud, be grateful for this day for the material existence of this day, for this day thou hast been granted life to live. Pause before thou venturest forth to sow the seeds of progression and enlightenment - pause, ye pause ye long enough that thou may cast aside the veil that cloaketh thy sins. Go ye forth and live thy day but liveth it well, let that day be an example to thy brethren that dwelleth with thee.

Close thine eyes and come with me, thou shalt gaze beneath the veils that enshroud the lives of thy material surroundings. Realise that it shall comfort thee naught when thy gaze and thy days pass as in a dream to realise that to take by the hand in the face of thy material applause to again cast them back to the misery from which thou in thy desire and vanity to receive the applause of the material surroundings, uplifted and saved from that misery for a moment. That is thy veil.

Realise 'tis not for the material applause for which thou hast been granted thy material existence. Realise 'tis but for a moment a material moment that thou dost exist. Realise well that thy moments are short and few. Thou must work with speed and wisdom so that thy dreams of yesterday may remain ever as dreams of pleasure and satisfaction and not regret.

Realise the importance of thy material existence. Model ye well thy actions, sow ye well the seeds of progression so that thine hope of tomorrow may bring ye the reward for which ye shall be truly entitled.

Know ye thy moments are moments not a moment for it will avail ye nothing to comply for a moment disobeying for the rest of thy material moments. Ye that sinneth hoping and hoping for forgiveness while thou sinneth, thou that sin in thy vanity desire to comfort thyself whilst thou sinneth by the thought that thou has been taught to pray for forgiveness. Thy sin knoweth thou is but a dream that has past beyond thy recall. Thou who has sinned must pray for strength for the power to help thee to give thee wisdom and strength to enable to live for today not for the forgiveness of thy sin of yesterday. Realise thy hope thine only hope of freedom from thy past sins is the beauty of thy existence of today. Let thy work of today be work that will cast the curtain of protection around ye, a curtain that will hide thy sins of yesterday. Live ye well for today and hope for the permission to hope for tomorrow that thou mayest live better than thou didst today.

I gaze down upon thy material plane. Here I behold a material whose life, material life is about to expire. Those materials that now surround him gaze with regret upon the face of he they have been taught to respect.

Let us look beneath the veil of that material existence. Yea we will recall the dreams of yesterday note ye a life of comfort material comfort surrounded by material slavery served and attended by materials such as himself who dreaded the harsh words of their so called master.

The master so called who condescended to attend the church of worship regularly provided it didst not interfere with the pleasure that he so desired to enjoy. What comfort that material gained by the thought the mere thought that though unable to attend he was able to substantially donate a portion a small portion of money. A Cloak, a veil, under which he desired to live. Note ye now the expressions the doubts the fears that passeth gently over the face as he realises what is and what might have been.

The dreams of yesterday's regrets will bring unto thee as it bringeth unto the material subject upon which we now gaze nothing but misery and regret. Thou shalt realise in thy passing from thy material existence to thy Spiritual existence that thou are about to receive that which thy material life has entitled thee to receive.

Darkness or light in accordance with thy day. In thy darkness thou shalt realise that with all thy greed and wealth that was thine on thy material plane it avails naught in thy new existence. It will avail ye naught to cast forth thy slender thread of silk in the endeavour to save thy material brothers who are drowning around thee when thou couldst have cast that rope of gold and endurance.

Moments material moments, how ye my friends squander those material moments casting aside the opportunities that was thine to make, those moments worthy of the material existence thou were permitted to enjoy. Dost thou not realise that the moments were but given unto ye so that thou be given the opportunity to apply for a place in the garden of love and everlasting life. Dost thou not realise the shortness of that moment that opportunity.

Wouldst thou with all thy wisdom desire the material life of one moment, rather than the Spiritual beautiful everlasting life, surrounded by the comforts and pleasures of those that ye love and love ye, surrounded by light, love and progression, working in peace and harmony under the loving hands of thy Supreme God. Wouldst thou exchange that prolonged existence for thy material moment. Aye a child a child of thy material plane would realise the wisdom that I have placed before thee but then that child has not developed the desire for material selfishness. Be ye likewise a child cast ye aside thine own selfish desires, live thy material moment today. Let ye not look upon the dream of yesterday with regret. Ye that live without cause for regret shall have years of pleasure and enlightenment in which to dwell. Realise thy material strength to build and model thy material surrounding in accordance with the desires of thy Supreme God who granted thee thy material moments to live, let thy moments be moments seeds of which thou shall be justly proud. Let thy moment be not moments of regret.

I gaze with the permission of the Power and the Light that has been granted me by the Supreme Power of God again upon the material whose life material moments are about to become dreams that have passed beyond recall. The scene that my spiritual eyes are now permitted to see before my eyes the material a lady tired of the material trials but who desires rest, knowing that she leaveth behind nothing to regret who now desireth the comforting arms warmth and support of the Everlasting Light of the Supreme God. Life material life perhaps has been found very hard to comply with the requirements of the Supreme God. What joy and comfort she feeleth in the knowledge she has fought a hard fight conquering each temptation and desire resisting material temptations knowing now with certainty that she is justly entitled to the reward that she will surely receive.
