The Flickering Flame of Sin

The Book of Enlightenment - A guide to a better life

Sunday 25th August 1935

We beseech ye, ye material masses not to expose thy flame thy sin thy unworthy thoughts too closely to the draught of truth ere thy light of sin be exhausted leaving thee as thou desire in darkness granting ye the time for silent realisation during the darkened hours of meditation. There thou shalt if the Powers decree that the brightness of the flame in thine own material activities were but a light without the protecting endurance of the light of truth. Ye be well advised to cast aside thy sinful thoughts and search ye for the Light of Power the everlasting Light.

Thy sins may bring to thy misguided mind a pleasure for a momentary flicker a burst of flame bringing joy to thy misguided mind but a flame unreliable, never consistent with thy protection.

Light for a moment darkness for eternity

Ye who desire such a light surely realise the foolishness of the average material mind. Ye who stealeth the food of thy brethren of God's material children who helpeth not others will himself surely realise he who helpeth himself alone is fully justified in continuing to do so in the spheres of existence in the darkness and meditation. There ye shall realise a similar position of the material greed having been condemned to rely upon an unreliable flame no longer existent no longer appliable no longer successful. Can ye now expect the Power the force of God to grant unto ye the necessary help and light which ye in thy greed desired not to grant unto others.

It is truly spoken with wise tongues that is heard to say "Do unto others as thou wouldst have others do unto thee". In other words are the influencing forces of the Power of God bringing to the tongue the desires of God "Do unto others and then expect from others no more than thou wouldst do unto them".

Material friends whose misguided thoughts lead ye towards the flame of material greed realise that thou art but permitted thy very existence so that thou shalt compile and develop the necessary influences for the upliftment and progression of material existence.

Then ye must surely realise it be a sin at the very commencement of thy career to steal from thy brethren whom God has brought ye to the material sphere to protect. Ye who in the guise of a friend sent forth by the Power of God to enlighten, to turn and rob thy neighbour, to sin to a beautiful force a creation of God.

How dare ye disgrace thy Creator for being so foolish as to create so vile a mind as thine own disobedient sinful material self. Oh friends so powerful is the Power of God, God the Creator of thy father thy mother thy very existing soul. Hast thou no shame hast thou no desire to please. Friends I dread the hour that surely must arrive when the flame guiding thy erring footsteps to darkness is extinguished leaving ye alone in darkness to repent to cry for forgiveness.

To pray for the light that ye so thoughtlessly cast aside the true Light of God.

God is the Power. God is the strength. God is the Influence of thy very material creation.

Be worthy of thy God. Understand thy God the Power of God then the conferences of peace and goodwill will decendeth to surround ye all who are privileged to dwell in a sphere of material existence. Understand the Predominating Powers will bring peace and goodwill to all.

A little child shall lead them but it is thy duty and a privilege to be chosen as a medium of God to instil upon the mind of the child the necessary knowledge of the Power and the necessary forces of the Power of God.
