Wealth and Greed

The Book of Enlightenment - A guide to a better life

Sunday 20th January 1935

Know ye wealth and greed be the flaming swords that scatter the masses, that surround thee.

Wealth and greed enter the doors of thy Churches welcomed by the preachers of thy religious teachings.

The foundations of thy Church tremble rot and falleth to the ground of thy material existence whilst the masses call upon the Lord for justice. Thy Churches have pampered to and encouraged the wealth, the destruction of mankind, bestowing upon them the evils of wealth to the coveted places in the houses of the teachers of thy religion. Knoweth thou in truth and by reason of thine own wisdom that thy wealth cannot buy thee a place in the eyes of the Supreme Power God. Know ye that thou with all thy wealth are but an experimental weed in the eyes of the Supreme Power God. No more shalt thou store coveted positions in thy Church or in thy teachings such a position shall only be obtained by those who believeth and are desirous of working and complying with the demands of God. So desireth shall they be that they shalt race for the position. No money shall buy the position they so desire or shall enable them to obtain any better position. Why dost thy searchers not pray so earnestly for the upliftment of those in their midst that are stricken with poverty and misery. Why dost thy teachers not turn and cry to those they pamper for their riches. Yea I know thou were taught to give to those sorely in need, but if the gifts be small and thy wealth be large thou art a thief from the masses that surround thee. Ye who are all weeds in the garden of life shall share with thy neighbours their joys and sorrows of thy material existence. Did not the Lord of whom thou preach show such an example. Canst thou with all thy teachings find where the Lord selleth a seat in his house better than he giveth to the poorest of the masses.

What hast thou given if thou dost not miss such a small portion. For all thy brightness in the eyes of the Lord God thou art not more than thy neighbour if the lessons that have been granted to thee for enlightenment and understanding have made thee more intelligent than thy neighbour. Learn to use thy intelligence for the upliftment of thy brother, ever striving to bring thy neighbour to the level of thine own plane.

The Power that be granted thee is not thine own, thou in turn shall help thy neighbour in the darkness of his life step by step to follow thee in thy progress. Forsaking thy neighbour and thou shalt fall to his level.

This my friends must be the foundation of thy teachings of the new Religion thou art ordained to preach.
